A beautiful saying and a great inspirational transormational post
It starts with belief but there will be struggles and time involved, what is all good It makes you respect the good times.I've worked with learning diabled children There brains are really wired so they are clumsy, disorganised, can't write. Things which are natural for others are alien to them. I've worked with children in a home They are really angry and sad and have low self esteem. They all need to believe but they need also people who believe in them long term so they can grow new path ways towards who they really are. They all have the potential to be great despite their short comings
but it takes time

thats a very inspirational post.Sometimes we dont realise what we're worth or underestimate ourselves in such a way that life starts looking bleak. A bird learns to fly and realises its ability to touch the sky and it lets go of itself from a height.We Humans are scared to free fall..Maybe if we just let go and dance to the tune of life, we'd discover something that we never had....a better way of living instead of just being alive.

My heart actually thumped with a small shock when I arrived at your words, "Now burn it." I sat for a moment with the thump, and just let it be. I thought, "If something in me perceives such alarm at burning one slip of paper that's scrawled over with in-the-moment descriptors ... how much more difficult do we make it for ourselves to let go of *anything* ... !"

Human perception of reality will always be a result of our minds."

In my experience, successful meditation is the opposite of how you describe. No effort is involved at all and mind is not involved in the process. It is the effortless dropping of mind.

Once achieved, perception is still there without mind.

I think you have experienced this often but perhaps do not realise. You often write about the 'wonder' and 'mystery'. That is what reality looks like when not viewed through mind's filter.

You are looking at the territory, not mind's map of it. The territory always looks infinitely wonderful and mysterious.

I agree with you that we cannot comprehend the enormity of ourselves or the 'bigness' of infinite possibility...

A meditation practice, or experience of silence can assist us to go beyond these limitation€s and make connection with the 'thinker of our thoughts', however ultimately all of these methods are using the mind to try and go beyond mind temporarily.

Human perception of reality will always be a result of our minds. Furthermore all the layers of human consciousness are perceived from within our minds.

THe mind is the tool with which we process both internal and external experience.

If we accept that even transcendental experiences or altered conscious states are experienced within the mind... then it makes sense that we cannot even for a moment escape them... So changing our thoughts is important.

Creating a positive, life affirming self image is in my opinion a deeply practical thing to do.

I am concerned by philosophies which are so strict in their insistence on removal of any and all descriptors that they dont even like the use of words like 'good' or 'positive'....Personally, completely amorphous esoteric thinking is not something which seems practical to me...

I think a philosophy needs to be useful...

I think the kind of very strict removal of all descriptors which you have described to me many times might be useful for those who chose an ascetic lifestyle, which is certainly a beautiful path, but not one which is viable for many of us.

I believe we are the thinkers of our thoughts... and as such are connected to the infinite...

Furthermore, We have the ability to change our thoughts about who we are and our perceived limitations, so we can come closer to understanding the infinity which resides within us.
