A Million Points of Light

Its overwhelming sometimes.

The quiet feeling that sneaks underneath the window pane and settles around the shoulders of my life.

It comes in the broken moments. Sudden as unexpected laughter, warm as my sisters eyes. Its voice dripping honey in my ears, rooting my feet once again to the suppliant earth.

My words are not big enough to name it... So i call it Grace.

Undeserved, unwarranted,...Even when i am unaware of its presence, It falls like snow. Covering the world in the all embracing arms of love.

This week as we have taken another step in our journey together as a community of compassion, I have been overwhelmed by the grace that each of you have shown me.

I have found it in your loving words and your willingness to give whatever it is that you can of your time and talents to serve our brothers and sisters in deep and immediate need in broken corners of this world.

We are a million points of light.

In spite of all the cynicism and fear that rises around us each day... I believe in us.

In the power that lies within our own unvarnished humanity.

In the circle that cannot be broken.

And when we join our wounded hands...
Turning away from apathy a little more each day,
Until the beating heart of possibility becomes more present in our lives,

We find that we truly can make a difference in the lives of those struggling in the myre of extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS, malnutrition and endemic disease.

Whats more we remember that as different as we may seem, separateness is a mirage.... a trick of the mind....

We are one family. Joined by the fire of living.

On this quiet night the world is alive with gracious possibility...

I need not say anymore,

for even the little stars, that watch over us like silent sentinels,

are whispering...

"We can"

In love, Maithri

My dearest Maithri, as always, you warm my heart, lighten my day, fill me with hope, trigger the joy and laughter that sometimes gets lost or misplaced. Hopefully, through you and beside you, we can make a difference in this sad world.

Much love to you as always,

Sylvia

I'm not sure what to call it either, but "grace" seems to encompass the feeling. Such a lovely post, Maithri.

The darling baby pictured here makes me want to run scoop it up in my arms and hold it close and cover it in kisses.

Peace & love to you.

A single Light can be a beacon of Hope, shining the Light for those to see the world around them. A little ray of Light can shine Love into the dark corners of the universe. A single beam of Light can stand in Harmony and Grace, beckoning the world to listen to the soft Light, and respond. You my friend are an Earth Angle shinning your Light to those in need, uncovering the darkness of many, sharing Hope and Love . May your life's journeys be filled with Hope, Joy, Health, Love and Grace. Blessing to you always, Love and Light, Nina P.

Oh Maithri, I have not been here in a long time and what balm it is for the soul to return.

Grace - freely given and abundant, oh I am awash in this thought.

So many prayers and wishes for you and all that you are with right now.

It has been a while since I popped by but it's through no fault of mine. I can't access your blog from my laptop at work because there's firewall preventing me from doing it. Your site comes under humour and I work at a school so that's off limits. And at home everytime I enter your blog my internet service crashes. Something to do with graphics and things like that.

However I risked all that today to enjoy another inspiring post from you and realise that change comes in small or big doses, but it does come. Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

Seurat, swore by
the value of additive mixing
fireflies with short lives
and long tales
complete each other
stories in braille
and from light years away
chase away
the illusion of separation
where pain lives
no more

you are such a light, dear friend
a sweet inspiration of unblinking love.

may the soft light of dawn
kiss you gently to waking

love always,

I have often thought that our spirits shine like point of light, and that that is the way God sees us, is us, the Whole out of which our separate lives were born, like stars in the endless sky. And that the saints among us shine the brightest, because they have more of that grace you speak of in them; they shine like a million suns, like a super nova, they shine like you, brother :)

And of course grace is just another word for love.

Ya Haqq!

Oh, that face. That beautiful face which you captured in a moment of pure joy, of hope. How can we not want to be a part of causing that to happen over and over again.

Indeed we can. And we will, Maithri, we will! The beauty of your writing is our inspiration, darling boy.
