Dear Friends,
I'm setting a thousand painted 'thank you's' free tonight....I dont know just how they will reach you....But with my whole heart, I pray they will....
Perhaps you will find them in little boats sailing across the moonlit waters, or tied to the string of a kite with the stars in his eyes....
I want you to know how grateful I am for you. For the gift of your friendship. Your words. Your tenderness, love and strength.
I am doing well.
Discovering an unshakeable strength, a jewelled serenity, which I never knew I had.
Over the course of the next week I want to share some stories of deep abiding hope with you.... taken from my work in Swaziland.
But for now, in this candle-lit moment, let me leave with you a few gifts... from my heart to yours....
Here is a poem, a song and a photograph....
Each one... a hand pointing to the moon....
Souvenirs left by a mighty sea on the winding shore....
The gifts of the passionate life....
My love to you, Maithri
Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this:
where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

I love Neruda's poetry and that was particularly fine to go along with the photo and the video. Thanks for passing on your passion. It's much needed in the world of today.
Beautiful poem, ((hugs))
very nice
My husband romanced me with Neruda. That is a guarantee if you want to romance someone. This is one of my favorites. Sending you love and happiness for you deserve that and much more dear brother.
Kia ora Maithri,
Beautiful. Kia kaha brother.
Aroha,
Robb
Now the question is how can I thank you for this gift of words, music, and soul? I have no words, for two syllables are but a grain of sand lost in the vastness of joy you bring... but these two syllables I will shyly offer, nonetheless:
thank you.
:-)
(((hugs))),
love,
me
Oh! I caught it! Right here in my Heart, what you sent! The poem is astonishingly beautiful. I remembered from your mother and father's anniversary.
Much Love, Maithri,
Sarah
Beautiful, sometimes words turn into emotions and take you to another world...a world a little away from reality :)
Thanks for the lovely poem and the immense positive energy that yoiu spread!
May God's blessings be showered upon you,
Sana

maithri, i don't know why i don't come here more often. i certainly think of you often. perhaps i hold off until i am hungry for your words and spirit. then i feast in your goodness.
xoxo
My heart has been heavy for the past few weeks and I haven't been around. I lifted my head up today to try and see beyond the end of my own nose and came to see you. So glad I did. It helped. I'm so very happy that you're finding your strength and allowing yourself to heal. It's not easy, is it? Worth it, yes!
With much affection,
Amy
Warm greetings of peace my friend,
I am so glad you are well & am inspired by the work you are doing in Swaziland! I follow your updates on Facebook. :)
I love that Neruda poem - Basil & I had it printed on our wedding invitation over 7 years ago and it has only become truer with every passing year.
May all of us be blessed with love and passion, in service of others and to make our lives the most beautiful they can be in the short time we've been given.
Warmly,
Baraka
I see the passion in Paco de Lucia's face, in the photo of the couple, and mostly in Neruda's words.
To me, that is the key to life, live it with passion.
Love this post.
Thank you Maithri
Maithri,
"Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps."
~Pablo Neruda
I had to fight Neruda with Neruda. ;D
Sending love and light my angel.
How like you to give gifts when you are most in pain. I love you, my friend.
