That every song I’ve sung
In the echoing heart of the old cathedral
Or the solace of my bordered room
Every liliting phrase
gifted
to a painted dream of sea
Or a bubbling sink full of yesterdays dishes
Is here
Today?
There is rhubato love
Pouring in velvet shades of light
from a nurse
Tending the wounds
of a weary old man
Staccato pain,
That suddenly grips the face of the
young girl
waiting
in the corridors
for the answer
she fears
Crescendos of emotion
Glissandos of expectation
And outside the grey window
A butterfly dances her
Adagio with the
perfumed heart
Of a flower
The music
Is everywhere
Even here in
Our crisp, white
Hospital
Turning the lyric of ordinary days
Into
Rapturous
life

A beautiful poem, Maithri. I read out loud just now. Your poetry flows and sings. Wonderful. Make me want to record a video speaking these words.
The melody of this poem is already captured in my heart, the notes resounding beautifully and I will dance to this all day and long afterwards...

It seems that is what YOU do. Isn't it amazing how few beings truly live life? What a joy it is to witness one who does.
The music IS everywhere... we all just have to learn to listen :)

I think it's the love and the beauty we find in our ordinary days that make life such a wonder. The opportunities we have to serve others that makes life real. Of course, you know that already. You know it better than anyone I know.
Dearest Maithri,
Always, you build bridges, with your actions, with your words. Thank you for connecting the reality of your sterile hospital environment to the very pulse, the beauty of life, articulated so magically through your loving soul.
Love this,
Mama Shujaa.
Mmmmhmmmm....you are such a soulful writer Maithri. Love the last lines, poetic and profound...
