I Still Believe

My whole life, I have felt the pull of something bigger than myself.

Something wild and deep, just beneath my breath. Just beyond the places where the light does not fall.

A gravity. A magnetism.

A rainbow thread of love connecting me to a world of wounded beautiful human beings.

This morning as I wake, all I see are painted 'thank you's.
Adorning every unfinished surface of my life.

I believe in Love. I believe in Angels.

In spite of it all,

Because of it all...

Maithri.

Every single time I come here, I am moved to tears.

Moved by your beautiful voice that always speaks (and sings) for justice and compassion.

Your love is a song Dr. Maithri. I am just so lucky to have heard it.

Love,

Sara xoxo

Beautiful as always, my dear Maithri. You are a light of hope in this world, a world that suffers from so much darkness and pain. And you are certainly a light in my life as you are for so many.

Much love to you, as always.

When I meet young men like you who believe in something bigger than themselves, I am heartened. I regain my hope that we have what it takes to save this world and all the people in it.

Hi Maithri,

Your words "in spite of it all, because of it all" will resonate with all of us for whom Africa is not just the stuff of 'fairy tales'

You tell the truth in all its painful beautiful reality.

As I've said before I feel your voice is truly a gift from heaven.

Peace to you brother,

Dear Wanda,

Thank you for your presence here my friend.

Yes I am a believer...

In my short 29 years I have seen things which would make many stop believing....Deeply soul ravaged places which my little words still find difficult to describe...

And yet i know that love is real. It is what keeps us going when there is nothing left...

It is what binds us, one to another, heart to heart,

In spectral light,

Much love and gratitude to you,

M

Love and light my friend,

Dear Brother Longelu,

Yes Brother.... we know its not just the stuff of fairy tales....The visceral pain, the amplitude of suffering...The lens through which we see the world is forever altered by the reality and depth of human suffering...

And yet I remain hopeful... i remain starry eyed... because for me there is no choice...

Oscar Wilde once said "Two men look out of the same jail bars. One sees mud. The other sees stars".

I see the stars... shining above every little child shivering in a hut... every man lying in his own wastes, named 'untouchable' because of his disease...

I see the light surrounding the grandmother working 14 hour days to feed her 20 orphaned grandchildren...

THey are my light, my heroes... I am forever connected to them... We are forever connected to each other... In rainbows of light and love and passion,

My love to you dear brother, M

Dear Sister Nosipho,

Its a song i used to sing as a child... I think 'kermit the frog' used to sing it...

Its profound simplicity has always spoken directly to my heart,

THank you for your kindness,

Much love, M

Maithri

I find myself resisting coming here now- or at least chosing my moment because I know there will be something here to challenge me or move me to tears. You have done it again- moved me to tears. I closed my eyes during your singing and felt a peace.

Maithri you can tell that I am officially losing my marbles as when I saw that you had commented on my blog I started crying.

I don't know if you know how incredible I think that you are.

You are everything we should all try to be.

Your singing was amazing and please thank your pianist for me.

Love Renee xoxo

Dear Cinammon,

Thank you my friend for being here.
Over the last few years many people have told me that they find some of what i talk about here confronting...challenging... and i hope thats a good thing ;)

That we can learn from one another and grow as a community of caring.

Your kindness humbles me,

Much love to you, Maithri

Dear Pam,

I deeply appreciate your kindness my friend,

Thank you for believing, for daring to love in a world that so often closes its heart to those in pain,

Love from my heart to yours,

Dear Robin,

What a pleasure to welcome you here to this humble place. Robb and his family are amazing people arent they!

I love reality ;). Lifes just too short for falsity and the donning of personas...

Why not be who we are, in all our wounded beauty...

It moves me that your heart was touched by the faces of the children... I truly believe they are our angels... thats why i keep them constellating around this place... to bless it with their pure light,

Love and peace to you, Maithri
